Contractors often will start the work (tearing our drywall etc.) without doing the asbestos testing. Oftentimes the city asks for their asbestos report and this turns into a major asbestos spill because the work has been started WITHOUT asbestos testing. If they would’ve called us first to do the testing this would cost approximately $1000 instead of $15,000 or more for the cleanup costs in addition to a $25,000 fine from the state and potential jail time. OSHA violations can penalize the business for an additional $250,000 and can shut down your business. Yes we can help with the cleanup costs however we prefer to get in before any spill occurs as it saves the client, the contractors’ business, and saves the relationship.
